Course Availability
This course is open to high school juniors and seniors interested in agriculture, horticulture, and animal agribusiness. This two-semester course is offered at Webberville High School. Transportation to this program is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Course Highlights
The Agriculture and Natural Resources program is a partnership between Michigan State University, Capital Area Career Center at Ingham Intermediate School District, Webberville Community Schools, and the Webberville FFA Alumni.
Students will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in the most popular fields of agriscience and natural resources including horticulture and animal care (handling and nutrition). Students will work cooperatively on class projects, interact and work with industry professionals, and participate in FFA competitions. These activities provide a wide variety of agriscience learning experiences, leadership training, and personal growth and development, vital in creating a successful student learning environment.

Program Enrollments Requirements
Earth Sciences, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry course work is helpful, Ability to work independently and in teams, goal orientated, willingness to explore new areas of Agriscience and Natural Resources, problem-solving skills, student transportation is required.
Special Features
Students will participate in FFA, a national student organization that promotes development of leadership skills and career success through agriculture education.
Students have the opportunity to participate in contests, conferences, travel and to earn scholarships.

Career planning for post-secondary education.
Career Paths
Students will be ready for entry-level positions in a wide variety of occupations at local farms, golf courses, vet clinics and landscaping businesses.
With additional course work, students may qualify for certification in occupations like landscaping, greenhouse management, and floriculture.
Two and four-year post-secondary programs offered at Michigan State University include Veterinary Tech, Agribusiness Management, Animal Science, Forestry, Horticulture, Crop and Soil Science and Landscape Architect.
