What has 200 plus parents and alumni band members? The Webberville Band Boosters! Who spent $8,900 for marching band uniforms, percussion cabinet, marching banner, dry cleaning, band camp supplies, awards such as medals and plaques, and miscellaneous supplies? The Webberville Band Boosters! Who provided the means for students to earn money in their student accounts so that they may go to Cedar Point, buy instrument supplies, and save money for the BIG trip? The Webberville Band Boosters!

From August 2004 to February 2005 the Boosters have participated in: concessions, MSU ticket taking, cookie dough sale, winter flower sale, paper and pop can drives, bingo and cake walk that earned to band program over $13,000; and the year is not over yet! Of that $13,000 students earned over $2,000 in monies for their accounts to help defray the cost of major trips such as Cedar Point and the BIG trip. Did you know that your band student can earn $10 each time they help with concessions and if a parent helps the same night, the student earns a total of $20? The band student also earns money by participating in the winter and spring flower sale. Did you know by helping to take tickets at Michigan State University football games (6 games), the band program earns over $1200? That is pure profit for the band program.

There are close to 150 students in the Webberville Bands and growing. This is great for Webberville schools because it means we are diverse. We have music programs, athletic programs, art programs, various clubs – science, FFA, library, and so on. We, the Webberville Band Boosters would like the band program to continue to grow. We know it will grow with the continued support of the Webberville Community. Volunteering to help with the various fund raisers is one way to support the Webberville Band Program. Fran Rogers handles the concessions, Nora Stanton and Karla Hague head-up the flower sales, and Dave Wilson and Sue Carnes do the MSU tickets.
