I interviewed Mr. Jerry Alchin who is the owner of Alchin Plumbing Corporation. Mr. Alchin’s business is located on Alchin Road in Webberville. He started his own company and has fifteen employees. His servicemen usually do six to eight small repair jobs per day.

 

Mr. Alchin decided to pick this career because he liked the fact of meeting new people, a decent income, and mostly the variety of freedom that it allows him. He had already been an apprentice for five years.

 

Alchin Plumbing has been in business for 32 years starting in 1966. Mr. Alchin felt that 1998 was a good year for plumbing because the economy was good, interest rates were low, and a lot of people were building.
