Webberville Superintendent Welcomes Senior Citizen’s

January 2005

Webberville Community Schools wished to thank the many senior citizens that donate their time, talents, and resources to the school district. In recognition of their service to the schools, Webberville Superintendent Dr. Skilling recently hosted a senior citizen breakfast, concert, and tour.

Area seniors were treated to a breakfast buffet in the high school cafeteria. Following breakfast, the group had the opportunity to hear from the district administration staff, which includes Mrs. Suzi Slater, Elementary Principal; Mr. Brian Friddle, Secondary Principal; Mr. Greg Glover, Athletic Director/Asst. Principal; and Mr. Chuck Harper, Director of Special Education. Dr. Skilling gave a brief presentation regarding the completed bond projects at the schools, in addition to presenting the vision for a future bond vote in 2006.

Skilling noted, “Our school district is so fortunate to have an outstanding group of senior citizens that support our schools. They volunteer their time and energy in an effort to see our students become successful. The breakfast is just a small way for the district to thank them for all they have done and continue to do for our students.”

After breakfast, the group was treated to a special concert by the Webberville Men’s Chorus under the direction of Mr. Christopher Card, director of vocal music.

Following the concert, the group was taken on a tour of the secondary building to give them the opportunity to see first-hand all of the improvements and additions that have been completed at the school.

Plans are already underway for the next senior citizen breakfast, which will take place in the spring of 2005 at the elementary school. This will give everyone the opportunity to see the improvements and additions that have been completed in the elementary building.
