Webberville Students Participate in Competitive Olympics

Twenty students from the Webberville Community Schools were invited to participate in the Fourteenth Annual Competitive Olympics sponsored by Baker College of Owosso.

The event took place on April 23 rd with representatives from schools in Shiawassee County and surrounding areas. The competition is divided into separate modules with the students participating in up to three different events during the Olympics. Categories included activities such as: accounting, chemistry, drafting and design, graphic communications, public speaking and web page design.

Webberville students have attended the Competitive Olympics for the past 6 years under the direction of teacher Marie Lloyd. This year Mike Oberley won third place out of 30 in the CAD competition. The team of Rebecca Beach, Jessica Carpenter, and Rachel Van Gilder placed third out of 80 teams in the English/writing competition.
