Minutes from October 21, 2004

 

Members Present: Maureen Monroe, Laura Bartel, Brian Friddle, Suzi Slater, Suzanne Cloudman, Larry Neitzert, Eileen Slider, Janet Reifenberg

 

Most of the meeting was spent discussing what the curriculum counsel should be. We looked at a draft handbook and by-laws, and spent time discussing who should be in its membership. We also discussed voting privileges; this topic will be further discussed at the November meeting. Other topic addressed included:

A desire to use the curriculum council for better communication throughout district, how we should select committees and what they should be, our goals for the year, and how we might go about reaching them.

 

Reviewed Handbook and By-laws: Tie what the committee does to professional

development and have professional development set up for next year.

 

Membership: Discussion on members: PSC ( Union) representative, NCA members, department chairpersons, other members

 

Voting Members: Need to be decided, members who are consistently at Council are voting members. Parent and student members will serve in an advisory capacity.

 

Assign Voter Memberships: Will be worked on by Brian Friddle

 

Mission and Beliefs: Looked it over to see what needs to be changed.

 

Duties: Presentation are given one month and voted on the next month, reviewed other duties as well.

 

Meetings: Mornings - third Thursday - Brian has dates.

 

Content - Leadership Teams need to be established
