Special Board Meeting Minutes

February 7, 2005

 

This Special Board meeting of the Webberville Board of Education was called to order by President Simmons in the Webberville Board of Education Office on Monday, February 7, 2005 at 7:06 p.m.

 

Present: Clifford Simmons II, Kristine Brenner, Teri Chamberlain, Kathleen Westbrook and Dorris Crandall

 

Also Present: Dr. William Skilling

 

Absent: Patricia Shanabrook

 

Ms. Brenner moved, Ms. Crandall seconded a motion to approve the agenda of Special Board of Education meeting being held on Monday, February 7, 2005 as presented. Motion passed 5/0.

 

The Board of Education interviewed Mrs. Debbie Feeney and Mrs. Caron Guidroz for the vacant board position.

 

Ms. Westbrook moved, Ms. Brenner seconded a motion to discuss the interviews Motion passed 5/0.

 

Discussion took place regarding the attributes of each candidate. The board was pleased to have 2 outstanding candidates to consider for this open position. President Simmons thanked the candidates for their willingness to serve with the board.

 

Ms. Westbrook moved, Ms. Brenner seconded a motion to appoint Caron Guidroz to fill the board vacancy the will expire on June 30, 2005. Roll call vote:

Ms. Teri Chamberlain Yes

Ms. Kristine Brenner Yes

Ms. Kathleen Westbrook Yes

Ms. Dorris Crandall Yes

 

Motion passed 5/0.

 

President Simmons administered the oath of office to Ms. Guidroz.

 

Ms. Westbrook moved, Ms. Chamberlain seconded a motion to award the following bids as presented: AG1 – Earthwork and Utilities to Carol’s LLC in the amount of $21,491.00, AG2 Concrete to Kares Construction in the amount of $51,400.00, AG3-Mechanical to Myers Plumbing and Heating in the amount of $14,340.00, and AG4-Delta Electrical Contractors in the amount of $33,900.00. Motion passed 6/0.

 

Dr. Skilling presented information on the recreation millage.

 

Ms. Westbrook moved, Ms. Crandall seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed 6/0.

 

The Webberville Board of Education meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
