Special Board Meeting Minutes

September 1, 2004

 

This Special Board meeting of the Webberville Board of Education was called to order by President Simmons Webberville Board of Education Office on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 7:08 p.m.

 

Present: Clifford Simmons II, Patricia Shanabrook, Teri Chamberlain, Kristine Brenner, Dorris Crandall, Kathleen Westbrook, and Dr. Skilling, Superintendent.

 

Absent: Tina Beauvais

 

Ms. Brenner moved, Ms. Crandall seconded a motion to approve the Agenda of the Special Board of Education Meeting being held on Wednesday, September 1, 2004. Motion passed 6-0.

 

Communications & Petitions:

None

 

Discussion Items:

Dr. Skilling gave an update on discussion he has had with Coke. He will keep the board updated.

 

Action Items:

Ms. Chamberlain moved and Ms. Shanabrook seconded a motion to approve the bleacher bid from Southern Bleacher in the amount of $276,465. Motion passed 6-0.

 

Ms. Shanabrook moved and Ms. Brenner seconded a motion to approve Chartwells for the food service management contract as presented. Motion passed 6-0.

 

Questions or Comments from the audience:

Ms. Ester Marr asked questions on the Chartwells contract.

 

Ms. Sue Douglas voiced her concerns regarding rumors she had heard about concession stand sales. Dr. Skilling assured her that no decisions have been made and that a committee would be formed to develop a plan on how to best operate the concession sales at the school. She thanked the board for their support.

Questions or comments from the Board of Education:

Ms. Westbrook asked for clarification on an email that she had received.

 

Ms. Shanabrook moved, Ms. Chamberlain seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed 6/0.

 

The Webberville Board of Education meeting was adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
